Saturday 20th February, 7.30pm; Brampton Comm. Centre
Several years after leaving an orphanage, Gabrielle Chanel finds herself working in a provincial bar. She's both a seamstress for the performers and a singer, earning the nickname Coco from the song she sings nightly with her sister. A liaison with Baron Balsan gives her an entree into French society and a chance to develop her gift for designing increasingly popular hats. When she falls in love with English businessman Arthur Capel further opportunities open up, though life becomes ever more complicated.

Club News The AGM went ahead on 26 January although, due to low attendance, proxy votes had to be relied upon to complete the business. The constitution was amended in accord with the documents recently circulated and a copy can be found at Brampton Community Centre. A new committee was elected but consists of only 4 people. The constitution allows for 10. It is now up to the committee to elect the officers and they will be announced in due course. Committee members and Club Helpers are still urgently required as there is a lot of work involved in running the club. The club can easily be contacted by email or through the Community Centre. See our NEWSLETTER for loads more information. |
