The Old Oak

The future of the last remaining pub, The Old Oak, in a village of Northeast England, is in jeopardy. People are leaving as the mines have closed and housing becomes cheap and available, thus making it an ideal location for Syrian refugees. This, however, causes tension in the community.

The Great Escaper

A war veteran, Bernard, wishing to attend the 70th Anniversary of the D Day landings in Normandy, misses his connection to get there. Undeterred, he demonstrates his 'can do’ spirit by escaping from his Care Home and making the journey in his own way. 

Oppenheimer

A dramatization of the life story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist who had a large hand in the development of the atomic bomb, thus helping end World War 2, but was tormented by guilt.

There will be a short INTERMISSION during the screening.

A Man Called Otto

Otto is a grump who has given up on life following the loss of his wife and wants to end it all. When a young family moves in nearby, he meets his match in quick-witted Marisol, leading to a friendship that will turn his world around.

 

Past Lives

Nora and Hae Sung, two deeply connected childhood friends, are wrested apart after Nora's family emigrates from South Korea. Twenty years later, they are reunited for one fateful week as they confront notions of love and destiny.
