National Theatre Live production of the gripping play written by David Ireland. It explores the issues of addiction and the complexity of recovery through the relationship of two Alcoholics Anonymous members, James (Martin Freeman) acting as mentor to the new recruit, Luka (Jack Lowden). The fifth step, refers to the point in the process of recovery at which Luka is encouraged to confess, which threatens to jeopardize their relationship.
